NAJU Hamburg – Naturschutzjugend im Naturschutzbund Deutschland (NABU), Landesverband Hamburg e.V.

NAJU (German Youth Association for Nature Conservation) gives young people between the ages of 6 and 27 the opportunity to get involved in the protection of nature and the environment. Since 1980 NAJU has been active throughout Hamburg working on projects that emphasize practical measures for protecting nature and educating people about the environment. The youth groups take their own decisions about what they want to do. This includes all kinds of activities from brook sponsorships to holding informational events and organising spectacular outdoor happenings. NAJU’s seminars and excursions give participants a close look at nature in Northern Germany from the Harz all the way to Helgoland. The experience and knowledge gained from these activities are passed on to the "little ones" in the NAJU children's groups. “Older” members are encouraged to get involved e.g. as leaders of groups or seminars.
